We are trying something new at the 2024 Savannah Book Festival. For the first time in the history of SBF we will have two panel discussions. We have scheduled two panels for Festival Saturday in the afternoon. All of the authors participating in the panelists will give their solo talks in the morning. Then in the afternoon reconvene for their respective Historical Fiction and Thrilling Fiction panel discussions.
The Historical Fiction panel discussion includes Lauren Grodstein, Susan Meissner and Theodore Wheeler. Jonathan Rabb, Professor of Writing at The Savannah College of Art and Design will moderate the discussion.
The Historical Fiction panel discussion is scheduled for Saturday, February 17 at 2:20 PM in the Baptist Church Sanctuary. The discussion will explore the authors’ research process, connections within their overlapping thematic elements, and the cultural relevance of the genre in literature.
The Thrilling Fiction panel discussion includes S.A. Cosby, Charles Soule and Gregg Hurwitz. Denny S. Bryce, bestselling, award-winning author and NPR book critic, will moderate the discussion.
The Thrilling Fiction panel discussion is scheduled for Saturday, February 17 at 3:40 PM in the Baptist Church Sanctuary. This discussion will unpack the anatomy of an action scene and plot development of this popular and complex genre.
